What is ceremonial cacao?
Ceremonial cacao is pure, unrefined cacao mass made from whole, fermented cacao beans – with no sugar, milk or additives. Unlike ordinary chocolate, it is enjoyed consciously and in its original form. For centuries cacao has been drunk in ritual within the cultures of Central and South America, and it is traditionally valued for moments of mindfulness, connection and heart-opening.
Our cacao varieties & origins
- Peru – Criollo: One of the noblest cacao varieties, fine in aroma and mild in taste. Perfect for refined ceremonies or pure enjoyment.
- Bolivia – Beniano (wild-harvested): Rare wild cacao from the Bolivian Amazon, with a fine, mild sweetness and a unique range of aromas – an experience for raw-cacao lovers.
- Ecuador – Arriba Nacional: Renowned for its rich, floral character and intense cacao note. Ideal for anyone seeking depth and elegance.
- Colombia – Arhuaco, Sierra Nevada: From the indigenous Arhuaco community, with fruity aromas and a creamy texture – balanced and full-bodied.
- Bali / Indonesia – Sacred Flores: An exotic, earthy and lightly spiced flavour profile. Especially popular for ceremonial occasions and creative uses.
Cacao paste, drops, nibs & blends – which form suits you?
Our cacao comes in several forms: as a block or cacao paste for chopping and melting, as practical cacao drops for precise portioning, and as cacao nibs for snacking, baking or topping. For functional rituals you’ll also find our Medicine Magic blends with ingredients such as medicinal mushrooms, blue lotus or shilajit.
Preparation & dosage
For one cup of ceremonial cacao, finely chop around 20–40 g and melt it slowly in hot plant-based milk or water – a little more for deeper ceremonies. Stir mindfully, set your intention and, if you like, refine it with cinnamon, chilli or cardamom. As cacao naturally contains theobromine, work your way up to the amount that feels right for you.
Quality & origin
We source our cacao from smallholder cooperatives and focus on organic quality, fair collaboration and single-origin provenance – natural, gently processed and free from additives. This keeps every cacao in its pure, original form.
