Natural raw cocoa from sustainable cultivation in Indonesia


Origin and character

The cocoa comes from wild stands on the Indonesian island of Flores, where it thrives in species-rich agroforestry systems. In the midst of vanilla, nutmeg and cloves, it develops a particularly complex aroma. The cultivation takes place without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers.

The beans belong to the Trinitario and Forastero varieties and are traditionally cultivated to promote natural biodiversity and ensure quality in the long term.


Processing – traditional craftsmanship

Immediately after harvesting, the cocoa beans are subjected to a two-stage, naturally controlled fermentation. This method, developed by experienced fermentation experts, ensures a full development of the aromas and guarantees the absence of toxins or molds.

After drying, further processing takes place in Bali: In a small manufactory in Ubud, the cocoa is gently ground into a fine mass for 72 hours in traditional stone mills. This processing preserves the valuable ingredients and ensures an incomparably full-bodied taste experience.


Sustainability and social responsibility

The cocoa comes from a project that advocates a transparent supply chain and fair trade. All those involved – from the cocoa farmers to the processors – are paid above-average and supported in the long term. Part of the revenue goes directly to local development projects, such as access to clean water, electricity and educational initiatives.


Taste and use

The cocoa mass offers a round, intense taste with a creamy texture and fruity-nutty notes. Ideal for ceremonial cocoa drinks, creative desserts or as a high-quality base for your own chocolate creations.


Recommended use

  • Preparation:
    Dissolve 30 g of cocoa mass in 250 ml of warmed plant milk. Refine with coconut blossom sugar and spices such as cinnamon or vanilla if desired.

  • Hint: Do not heat the liquid above 42 °C to preserve the full nutrient spectrum.
