Força Feminina Rapé, also known as Feminine Force, is a special rapé made by a daughter of Biraci Nixiwaka, the chief of the Yawanawa people. Before returning to their traditional roots and medical culture, healing work within the community was reserved exclusively for men. The chief’s wife, Putani Yawanawa, was the first woman to officially participate in spiritual duties along with her sisters. She and her sisters went through a one-year initiation diet for the first time. Her daughter Nawashahu continues her parents’ legacy by receiving and singing their spiritual songs and making this impressive rapé. Nawashahu is known for her beautiful songs, which she receives in her mother tongue and in Portuguese when she performs her spiritual works. She travels worldwide to hold ceremonies and spread joy. During her time in her home village, she makes this remarkable rapé that we love to use. They live in Aldeia Sagrada, the last village upstream, also known as Sacred Village. This place was their home at the time of first contact and today serves as the scene of their initiations and the sanctuary of their ancestors. Força Feminina, the power of women The recipe of this rapé is based on the traditional blend of Yawanawá. It is made from strong Mapacho and original Tsunu ash. This powerful product is one of our favorites. It is a sacred snuff that is highly appreciated by both men and women. Haux Haux. A traditional Yawanawa song sung by the medicine woman who makes the rapé:
