Shipibo Manta with Ponte Kené – Plant Spirit & Energetic Alignment
This hand-embroidered Shipibo Manta (Tela) was made in Pucallpa (Peru). The ornate Ponte Kené pattern in the center symbolizes the energetic order of the universe – as revealed by the Plant Spirits during shamanic ceremonies. The manta is small but powerful – ideal as an altar cloth, for rituals or as a protective object.
Meaning of Ponte Kené & Plant Spirit
Kené are the sacred patterns of the Shipibo-Konibo – they represent the energetic frequencies that are made visible through icaros (sacred chants) and plant medicine.
Ponte Kené refers to a particularly dense, central design – a place of spiritual clarity, connection and healing.
The plant spirits that shamans work with – such as ayahuasca, bobinsana or chakruna – pass on patterns like this in visions. The embroidery design is not only visual, but also energetic – it carries the essence of the plant.
The colourful frames and wavy lines symbolise the flow of plant medicine and the lively exchange between body, mind and nature.
