Shipibo Kené Scarf – Ponte Kené
This handmade Kené shawl was made by a Shipibo-Conibo family friend in Pucallpa, Peru.

The design is called Ponte Kené, which means “straight lines”, and is an expression of clarity, determination and focus.
Ponte Kené – Meaning
In the tradition of the Shipibo-Conibo, the straight lines symbolize the masculine aspect,
the translation of visions into reality and the path from theory to action.
The pattern leads back to the center and is reminiscent of inner strength, clarity and self-confidence.
Kené motifs are considered the visual language of the Shipibo and combine art, cosmovision and spirituality.
