This artfully hand-embroidered shawl comes from the Shipibo-Conibo from the Peruvian Amazon.
The pattern is called Bero Icha Kené – “many eyes”. The densely set, colored polygon forms stand for many perspectives and for the interconnectedness of all things.

Shipibo Conibo & Kené Tradition

The Shipibo conibo are known for their kené art: complex, geometric patterns that are considered the visual language of their cosmovision.
They are drawn, embroidered or painted on fabrics and preserve cultural knowledge, stories and songs.
Embroidery requires patience, precision and a deep understanding of symbolism – each piece is unique and bears the signature of the artisans.
