Tepi – Chonta Wood with Shipibo Pattern & Aya Symbolism
Rapé applicator from Peru
This high-quality tepi from the Peruvian Amazon was traditionally
handcrafted from chonta wood – a sacred and particularly
resistant hardwood that stands for protection, clarity
and energetic strength in many indigenous cultures.
The front area is intricately decorated with Shipibo patterns , which represent the
cosmic geometry of the universe, healing and harmony.
The colorful beadwork in green, yellow, white and black is typical of the
Shipibo Conibo and is crafted in hours of precision work.
A special detail is the Aya symbolism (ayahuasca vine) on the upper part of the Tepis.
It stands for connection, spiritual insight and the wisdom of plant teachings.
