Mapacho Maso from Peru – traditional plant power from the Amazon

Mapacho Maso is a handmade ethnobotanical plant product from the Peruvian Amazon. It consists of fermented and carefully bundled leaves of the Nicotiana rustica – a traditional jungle plant that has been ritually used in many indigenous cultures of South America for generations.

In ceremonial contexts, Mapacho is considered a powerful companion for clarity, focus, protection, and conscious alignment. The production is carried out according to traditional recipes and is deeply rooted in Amazonian plant medicine.

Application in traditional contexts

In Amazonian practice, Mapacho is often used for the energetic cleansing of rooms and fields – comparable to the smoking of sage. The “Soplado” is particularly widespread: The aromatic smoke is blown over a person or a room with a clear intention to clear and balance energies.

Mapacho is also used in ritual contexts in certain traditions – for example, in the environment of ayahuasca ceremonies or in the work of specialized herbal healers, so-called tobaqueros.

Storage: how to keep your Mapacho Maso aromatic for a long time

Our mapacho masos come vacuum-packed directly from the Peruvian jungle and are naturally slightly moist and intensely aromatic.

• Unopened: Store in a cool and dry vacuum – this is how the Maso will last for many months.
• Open: Wrap individual pieces in paper and store in a cool place.
• Care: When the bundle dries out on the outside, gently spray with a little distilled water . Ideally, then leave to moisten in an airtight bag for 1-2 days and then wrap again in paper.
• Important: Do not store in plastic bags (without vacuum) – this can lead to mold growth.
