The Haliotis Iris Shell, also known as Rainbow Abalone, impresses with its bright colors, which mainly include shades of blue and green. This variant of mother-of-pearl is called paua by the Maori, the indigenous people of New Zealand.
The New Zealand paua mussel is characterized by its intense color spectrum and is ideal for burning loose white sage and smudges. Smudgen is a traditional custom in which bundles of herbs or fragrant woods such as white sage or palo santo are burned in the shell. This is often practiced as part of a ritual ceremony or for the energetic cleansing of spaces. Thanks to the natural holes in the mussel, an optimal air supply is ensured during smoking.
Note on the incense clam:
Since it is a natural product, variations in size, color and texture are normal. Irregularities on the edges and surface underline the natural character. Any algae deposits can be easily removed under running water.
