Dragon’s Blood (Sangre de Drago) – Natural Tree Sap from Peru
Dragon’s Blood, known in South America as Sangre de Drago, is a deep-red, liquid tree sap from the Amazonian tree Croton lechleri. The sap is harvested through fine incisions in the bark and lightly thickened in the air. Its intense red colour and viscous consistency gave it the name “Dragon’s Blood”.
In the cultures of the Peruvian Amazon, Sangre de Drago has been valued for centuries and still plays a role in ritual and ceremonial practices today. In modern natural cosmetics, the tree resin is used for external application on the skin.
Traditional use
In the indigenous cultures of the Amazon, Sangre de Drago has accompanied ritual and ceremonial practices for generations. The deep-red sap is regarded as a symbol of vitality and protection and is used in ceremonies for purification and for connecting with one’s inner strength. In shamanic practice, Dragon’s Blood is also traditionally used in connection with Kambo ceremonies, applied externally to the small skin points. The tree resin is generally applied externally to the skin. This use is part of the cultural heritage and does not describe any health effect.
How to use
Apply a small amount of Dragon’s Blood to the desired area of skin and let it absorb. The sap forms a thin, colour-tinting film on the skin. For external use only. Test on a small patch of skin before first use.
Origin and harvesting
Our Dragon’s Blood comes from wild harvest in the Peruvian Amazon and is gathered sustainably to protect the trees and the ecosystem. Pure, natural tree sap with no additives.
