A tepi is another traditional tool used by indigenous peoples in the Amazon region, similar to the kuripé. It is a rapé applicator, usually made of wood or bone, and is used to blow tobacco and herbal powder through the nose. Unlike the kuripé, however, the tepi is not blown directly into the nose, but one person uses it to blow tobacco powder into the nose of another person. This practice is often performed during ritual or ceremonial activities and can have various purposes, including spiritual cleansing or to promote visionary experiences.
